The ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research (DWR), Jabalpur, organized “Training-cum-Agricultural Inputs Distribution Programme” for Scheduled Caste farmers of Patan locality under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP) on 20th & 23rd June, 2025. A total of 102 farmers from 19 villages benefitted from the programme aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and promoting their overall development.
Dr. J.S. Mishra, Director, ICAR-DWR, Jabalpur, graced the occasion and emphasized the Government of India’s sustained efforts towards the socio-economic upliftment of Scheduled Caste communities through the SCSP scheme. He highlighted the importance of technology transfer, capacity building, and timely input support in improving the livelihood of marginalized farming communities.
As part of the programme, agricultural inputs including storage bins, certified rice seeds, urea, and herbicide were distributed to the farmers to support Kharif season crop management and promote scientific farming practices. The event was also marked by the participation of Dr. P.K. Singh, Principal Scientist, and Dr. Yogita Gharde, Nodal Officer; Dr. Deepak Pawar, Scientist; Dr Jeetendra Kumar Soni, Scientist; Dr. Kuwardadra Sahadeo Indaldas, Scientist, who interacted with the farmers and provided technical guidance on weed management and judicious use of inputs.
